Board of Management

Eastern volunteers is governed by a Board of Management who volunteer their services with pride and passion in contributing to the long standing tradition of excellence in a giving organisation.

The Board of Management brings together individuals with a diverse range of complementing skills, professional backgrounds and social status that collectively provide the familiarity and the focus related to the various parts of the expanding Eastern Volunteers services.

Dr. Mehdi Taghian (Chair and Treasurer) comes from a long corporate background in marketing. He held different marketing management positions in companies such as Gillette and Ansell International. Mehdi is currently a senior lecturer in International Marketing and Sustainable Marketing at the Department of Marketing, School of Business at Deakin University.

Mr Ranjit Gajendra (Deputy Chairman) has expertise is in strategy formulation and implementation, stakeholder management, leadership, governance, financial management, performance indicators establishment and measurement, and mentoring and coaching. He is a Chartered Management Accountant and Certified Public Accountant and holds a Masters in Education Management, Masters in Innovation & Entrepreneurship and is currently completing his doctorate degree.

Ms Yvonne Putz (Secretary) is the longest serving member of the Board who has been with Eastern Volunteers since 1994. Yvonne has served in various functions in addition to Board membership at EV including secretary, public officer, office volunteer, volunteer driver and event volunteer. She has commercial education and is a volunteer role model for all of us.

Ms Sue Edmonds (Board Member)is a qualified accountant with a bachelor of Business degree from Swinburn University. She conducts her own successful business providing accounting and tax services.

Ms Trish Morris (Board Member)has expertise in strategic planning, budget and forecasting, marketing and new product development, coaching and counselling, community and stakeholder management and is a workshops and training facilitator. Trish has postgraduate qualifications and brings substantial knowledge and managerial experience at various senior management positions.
