Volunteering is good for you and good for your community.
Eastern Volunteers is your Volunteer Resource Centre for the outer eastern regions of Melbourne. We service the local government areas of Manningham, Whitehorse , Maroondah and Yarra Ranges for Volunteer Resource Services.
We can:
- Help people find the right volunteering opportunity
- Support volunteering in the community such as assisting volunteer committees of management with their governance or promoting the benefits of volunteering
- Help organisations and community groups with their volunteer recruitment and placement
- Help people overseeing volunteers in their organisations or community groups with resourcing and training
- Help organisations design and manage their volunteer programs.
Some of this work is subsidised by a small grant from the Commonwealth government for the local government areas of Yarra Ranges, Maroondah and Whitehorse. Eastern Volunteers is funded by Manningham City Council to provide their Volunteer Resource Services. Volunteering is a great pathway to employment whether you are looking for your first job or returning to the workforce.
If you need 15 hrs volunteering for your Centrelink entitlement then we can find you the right opportunity.
Over 50 and feeling a little invisible. You are skilled in life and work so why not share your skills and insight. There is nothing better than using your expertise to assist the next generation or your community to thrive.
You can learn about the opportunities available to you by booking a face to face or phone appointment with one of our Volunteer Assessors. They will assist you to identify the right opportunity and support you to contact the volunteer program and community group/agency which you have chosen. They will follow up with you to make sure that your volunteering experience is going well.
We especially welcome volunteering requests from people with disabilities or who experience mental health issues, our LGBTQI community , our CALD communities and our first nations people.
Our Volunteer Service Assessors are located in a number of different areas .

Support for Organisations utilising Volunteers
Eastern Volunteers runs a series of free and fee for service learning and development programs designed to assist you to run and manage your volunteer programs. We also design and deliver professional development programs for your specific organisational or group needs.
We specialise in supporting small to medium community organisations with their governance. If you are a volunteer Board or Committee member then have a look at our Governance workshops.
